The moral of this random blog of a random story I just randomly thought of is: always check that the record inside matches the one on the sleeve.

Thinking back on times of my new found love for vinyl record collecting in my teenage years, reminds me of a time in particular. I was digging through a stack of albums at a thrift store when I came across what I thought was Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet". I got the record (for only like 50 cents thankfully) and brought it back to my buddy's house to listen to. Here's where the lesson comes into play. Upon doing this, is when I discovered it was indeed a copy of "the conga" and not Bon Jovi's "Slippery When Wet". It made for an unexpected surprise, a fun evening and a good story anyways. Sometimes you've just gotta learn the hard way.

I've checked every used record sleeve since

I hope I've made it well known that there is an immense amount of self realization in a lot of these blogs and it's like "Dear god, who cares? Am I really going to write about that?" But I guess you'll never be the expert if you're afraid to be the beginner.

I don't know if half of these blogs would even be considered music journalism, maybe more ethnomusicology? IDK
