It was definitely a well celebrated 7th birthday for Snake Lake, with an amazing performance from Cole Martin featuring Johnny Werkema.
Cole plays the kind of country I want to hear, a lot of the good stuff, real outlaw kinda stuff, the not too pop sounding kinda stuff, with a tasty little touch of bluegrass and whatnot. With features in his setlist including tunes from, Colter Wall, Tyler Childers, The SteelDrivers, The Red Clay Strays, Johnny Cash and more greats while doing what would make them proud. Highlights also include his shoutout to Willie Nelson for "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain", a song I like to accompany with a bed-time cup of tea, and also their performance of "The Devil Went Down To Georgia", Johnny seriously fiddled the house down for that one. We were very blessed while we heard Cole's own singles and entirely throughout his performance in case I haven't stressed that enough.
I've been wanting to see Cole play for awhile and I'm glad I finally did.
