Corin Raymond & Noah Walker At Scott Block Theatre

A small time is a good time
It might be referred to as a small time, but in Newfoundland you'd call it a LARGE night.
As it was partially heartbreaking to not be seeing Corin Raymond at The Velvet Olive. It was a well accepted introduction to a great new-to-me venue. I still got to see some friendly familiar faces and at least I didn't have to traverse a bunch of steps to use the bathroom? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
There was also a display of the sheer mastery that Noah Walker authoritatively presents on a 6 string as accompaniment.
Corin is equally a fantastic storyteller and musician. There is as much entertainment to be found in between his songs. He had the audience roaring and cackling or completely quiet in captivation while the tunes had subsided.
As always, Corin is a master of the small time. "There Will Always Be A Small Time" A song that is based around the artists that embody music in smaller intimate venues, As folks like him play songs for folks like me.
But there is a group of people that would insinuate that I didn't even see Corin Raymond perform. I saw Doug Norquay?
For the encore, Corin played "We Are So Lightly Here". A song that was dedicated to his lost loved ones, including one that he lost to the all-too-familiar nasty C word of the brain variety. Corin also encourages people to let go of grudges, it's time to forgive someone. Because, we truly are so lightly here.
"It's my gift to be alive"
