Corin Raymond & Noah Walker Live at The Velvet Olive

Only hearing of Corin Raymond recently from a buddy who shared the post on Instagram advertising the show, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. But the Ontario native delivered one of the most captivating performances that i've had the luck of attending. Everything felt so real as he poured himself in to every song and lyric and you can tell his words come from experience and his studio recordings, (that I had only briefly perused before the show,) do no justice. His songs become poetry and keep you guessing as you never know what to expect he will say next, and in person that becomes exemplified. So many lyrics become predictable even as you hear them the first time but Corin is a poetic master of his craft- he keeps you on your toes even if you were sure your feet were planted. So I truly hope that "folks like Corin keep showing up to play songs for folks like me." Along with Noah Walker to pull off some magic as he patiently waits for a chance to dance up and down his guitar strings with the technicality only of someone who has earned a reputation such as his own.
