Empathetic Moosic

You listen to music, but does it listen to you?
Not like listening to you in a creepy way, I don't assume the song you're playing listens to you sing in the shower and watches you change or anything. Not creepy, just empathetic. But I mean if your phone is playing the music and your phone listens to you for targeted ads and whatnot. I guess the music kind of does listen?
It's a pretty one-sided seeming affair when you look at it. You listen to the lyrics and hear what the artist is feeling. But if you relate to it, it's not really that one sided. It acts as an outlet. Even though it might not actually listen to your problems, it can do so much for you that you feel like giving back to it! The idea of Michael teaching to thank your instrument in Victor Wooten's "The Music Lesson" comes to mind once again.
I don't even physically play music much anymore, but it still so greatly lives with me. Does the banjo in the corner of my room miss me playing it? My window is open so I doubt that my neighbours miss me playing it. But I miss the healthier and more able version of me, perhaps more than my banjo does. Or maybe just the version of me that was more motivated to practice in any form?
Hopefully my banjo has a bit of emotional intelligence and maturity for context
