Lets take all of these songs and add a touch of bluegrass š
INTRODUCING "METAMODERN SOUNDS IN COUNTRY MOOSIC"
Wrong album I know, but I don't have that one.
There's no doubt, those honky tonk sounds provide a desirable flavour of their own. Listen to "Long White Line" in the shower for an endless uplifting feeling in your chest. Put a bluegrass spin on it, so I can curl up in a ball in my bed to listen to it a little better, and there's no coming back. I just want to hear the tasty sounding ring of a banjo in my ear, SO BAD! But someone else can do it, the kind of ringing sound I make with my banjo isn't the one I want to hear. The sound of the banjo in "Life Of Sin" is P H E N O M E N A L! Also, the banjo in "All Around You" is good at making you want to cry, but also dance?
BANJER MOMENT
This will definitely be one of my most listened to albums for the year. I think I've listened to the bluegrassified versions of these tunes more than their originals: "All Around You", "I Don't Mind", "Life Of Sin", "Life Ain't Fair and the World Is Mean" (Alright maybe that one is a close call) I'd also have to venture into Cuttin' Grass Vol.2 for the bluegrass version of "You Can Have the Crown". Maybe those High Top Mountain ones are fine where they are. Perhaps that album will be my next addition to the record collection.
Maybe the bluegrass and Americana stuff was kind of a gateway drug. (has had Kris Kristofferson records since 14) I hAtE cOuNtRy! (has always had a secret love for Conway TwittyĀ and Hank Williams) I've learned to accept it now.
COUNTRY MUSIC? HELP! I'VE BEEN IN ALBERTA TOO LONG!
*I'll blame it on that
Sorry mobile users, I'm still formatting these on my laptop
