For the first time that I've ever been to the Edmonton Expo Centre, I saw my saviours, The Dead South. Also because of a mutual connection through a buddy, I GOT TO MEET THEM TOO! Being handed a beer by the lead singer, Nate, is definitely added highly on the list of the most badass feeling things that I've experienced. The show and their playing was as tight as always. Might I add how amazing the new stage backdrop combined with the lighting was to see in person. The sound and bass driven effects are combined so well with their stomps and what not, like holy... It's always a definite pleasure to hear new tunes from the new "Chains & Stakes" album or any part of The Dead South's setlist for that matter. Of course the usual kick drum went off thunderously to the tale of "Banjo Odyssey" and the cousin lovers who ran off to Leduc (or insert city name here) for the final song of the encore and to close out the show in typical TDS fashion.
