Old Macdonald had a technological apocalypse
I know I've defended the use of technology or streaming services and stuff before. But AI is DIFFERENT! (like everything else was) I'm not really for the aspects of it taking the spots of a lot of artists and stuff or being a full replacement of them. But I admittedly like using it for topic ideas and brainstorming them.
Let's make that clear
Maybe it'll be another installation of the "how you use it" concept.
I think every introduction of technology is deemed to kill off something or someone. "Good luck, goodbye, Bobby Jean" - Bruce Springsteen It's new territory, so it's scary I guess. A technical problem? Maybe it's like Y2K all over again! (I was a few months old)
I think ChatGPT can give you a bunch of music recommendations, but not like me. (I promiseeee...) Maybe you can just ask it stupid questions and say goodbye instead. There's gotta be ways to use it without killing the creative. Ways that might actually be beneficial. Maybe it can be used as a Tool. (- 10,000 Days) Can you use it to help you market stuff? When your band just released a new eepy: honk choo zzzzz.
(See you need me to say things like that!)
Of course it'll take over some creative aspects but I think all technological advancement helps replace something. It's a tool that can be used for good or bad. Again, like all technological advancement.
Is this what Radiohead was getting at with "OK Computer"?
Music = Technology!?!?
"hmm I wonder what this guy thinks of it?"
