I'M NO LONGER IN THE CORRECT PROVINCE!
*writing started soon after and finished much after

"Home is where I want to be but I guess I'm already there" - Talking Heads
Even if it seems better not to be?
Newfoundland is an easy place to miss, Especially with a tune tied to every cultural aspect. The CDs, records and YouTube videos will have to do justice once again. I guess we want what we can't have, because I tend to listen to more while I'm away. But it's easy to miss hearing some jigs and reels through the radio.
I didn't go anywhere to catch some live music there, a missed opportunity. I don't know if the ringing in my ear would've liked that anyway. Thinking of it, what a missed opportunity to not get a video of me playing "Mussels in the Corner" on harmonica by the water in Newfoundland though.
Nothing rips your heart out like "Leaving On The Evening Tide" - Ron Hynes around your time of departure. That song is ALL FOR YOU? But your buddy working offshore leaves on the morning tide? Also, the Tim Baker version is a must listen.
No matter when you write about it, the homesick feeling never fully goes away (I'm sure it's felt for other places too.) Even if the return home isn't really the same anymore.
But you're still a "Goofy Newfie" - Roy Payne.
At least you're "Still just A Newfie in a Calgary hat" - Simani
Listen to "Saltwater Joys" without becoming a sooky baby: level impossible
