If there is some "underground" music, maybe there should be an elevator?
Up the stairs? No, it's overground! (Also scared of heights)
I saw the idea that "the coolest clubs, bars and record shops require you to walk up or down a flight of stairs" in the "WALT WHITMAN: THE FIRST AMERICAN PUNK POET?" article on pleasekillme.com. Which is kinda true, thinking of that one time I went to Sonic Boom records in Toronto years ago. (maybe they do have an elevator IDK) Or me poorly navigating a set of stadium stairs to see a good act. (That's why the one-level venues are so appreciated) But that idea was enough to get the gears turning in my head for a blog topic. While I kinda look at it from an accessibility standpoint, I'll get there, slowly but surely. Everyone wants to be part of that underground scene but quickly navigating A set of stairs might not be everyone's forte. God forbid if there isn't a railing. Especially one that isn't on my right side. If it is though, I might be avoiding North American traffic laws and going head-on to the left lane of the stairs. I'm pretty stubborn and like to take them anyway. I guess I should start taking advantage of some accessible seating.
How punk rock!
I'm fully aware that that type of "underground" has a completely different meaning. But "experimental" or "exclusive" might be more suitable terms for everyone included. Not like Tony Hawk's Underground either. I can't think of that game without hearing "A Day at the Races" by Jurassic 5 or "Imaginary Places" by Busdriver on a side-note.
MUSIC PA-PA-POWER!
E-E-E-E-EXCLUSIVE!
Describing something as "underground" is a lot cooler, let's be honest. You wouldn't want to be in the "mainstream". You're a non-conformist!
OR WOULD THAT BE MAINSTREAM/CONFORMING BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT EVERYONE WANTS TO CALL IT?
"Check out this band, you haven't heard them before."
Did being "underground" inspire hipsters? 😬
Music media poorly explained by a Newfie boy with an accessibility twist, no, that's my writing niche! It's so "underground".
